Blue Border has been entrusted with the delicate task of escorting the tugboat Carlo Magno trough the High Risk Area (HRA). The Italian flagged Carlo Magno, was the largest tugboat employed in the salvage operation of the container vessel Ever Given.
The operation was time critical and covid travel restrictions added extra challenges to an already complex deployment phase. The mission saw Blue Border offices and agents spread across 4 nations in 2 different continents, working jointly to ensure a swift and safe mobilisation.
The Blue Border Armed Security Team’s task (AST), was to ensure that all passive, defensive measures of the vessel were in place and to provide additional protection should the vessel come under pirate or terrorist attack while transiting through the treacherous waters of the Gulf of Aden and Bab El Mandeb.
The Carlo Magno finally made it to the Ever Given’s location on time where the salvage operation commenced upon her arrival.
It is thanks to the hard work and dedication of both shore based personnel and deployed teams that Blue Border can operate effectively and at short notice, no matter where .
Blue Border – Let us dare for you!
