On 19/08/2017 at 0840Z, position Lat.12 50’N, Long. 043 12’E, a Merchant Vessel was approached by 3 skiffs with 5 POB in each skiff and ladders sighted. Armed Security team on board showed weapons, skiffs then altered course.

This is the second incident that has been reported in this area within the space of 24 hours. Masters are advised to exercise extreme caution and to follow instructions as per UKMTO notice 001/Aug/2017.
